The music for the movie “Joker: Folie à Deux” is still under wraps, but here’s what we know so far:
- Not a musical: Director Todd Phillips confirmed that the film will not be a full-blown musical, but music will still play an important role.
- Cover songs: According to Phillips, the film will feature at least 15 covers of very famous songs, as well as possibly one or two original compositions.
- Dark atmosphere: Most likely, the soundtrack will be dark and disturbing, reminiscent of the music from the first “Joker” movie. The composer of the first film was Hildur Guðnadóttir, who used orchestral, minimalist and ambient melodies.
The trailer for the film is accompanied by an unusual version of the song “What the World Needs Now Is Love” – this is a hint of what the music in the film might be like.
